Interesting on the hurricane theory.. food for thought, take a sheet of paper (represents the earth crust or plates) make a dot on a far corner (Salton sea area or wherever)draw a line cross the middle (represents a coastline, now with the palm of your hand rotate the paper from the far corner and feel the resistance of the salton sea dot, as your palm gets closer to the coast the twisting motion gets a little stronger…, My opionon yes weater would have to to a very slight degree, Katrina covered such a large area and with great twisting far before it reached inland. I would sugest looking at wind maps to find when the winds were say exceeding 100 mph the start of twist. Bert Bert
